Mental health is an important aspect of our overall well-being, but it is too often ignored. Sometimes we might not even realize that our mental health issues are affecting our physical health. Tending to our mental and our physical well-being, can go a long way to managing our overall health during the COVID-19 pandemic.

If you visit the Sun Life’s PSHCP Member Services Website, you have access to the Lumino Health Centre, a space dedicated to providing health and wellness information. You will find regularly updated wellness and mental health content available via articles, videos, and podcasts. A provider search tool is also accessible, along with provincial coverage information.
Temporary Changes to the PSHCP still in effect
The list of eligible mental health practitioners under the PSHCP has been temporary extended to include social workers in all regions of the country, along with psychotherapists/counsellors. Additionally, the requirement to have a prescription under the PSHCP is temporarily suspended.
Please note that to be covered for the services of a social worker, a psychotherapist or a counsellor, all claims must be sent by mail using a completed and signed PSHCP Claim Form for members with Supplementary Coverage or a PSHCP Claim Form for Out-of-Country Claims for members with Comprehensive Coverage. Please attach all supporting documentation (original receipts, bills, invoices, physician or practitioner statements, and/or questionnaires, etc.) and mail the form to the following address:

Virtual Services Provided by Medical Practitioners
The PSHCP will reimburse eligible expenses that are the reasonable and customary charges for virtual services provided by the medical practitioners listed below. The practitioner must be registered in the province or territory where the member resides.
Eligible virtual services under the PSHCP are:
Maximum Eligible Expense: $300 in a calendar year (Maximum combined amount for the listed practitioners.)
PSHCP reimburses: 80%
Maximum Eligible Expense: $500 in a calendar year
PSHCP reimburses: 80%
Maximum Eligible Expense: $300 in a calendar year

Maximum Eligible Expense: $300 in a calendar year

Maximum Eligible Expense: Up to $500 and over $1,000 in a calendar year
